Women's Tennis Association

Celebrating 50 Years

Gallery Overview

THE CHALLENGE
The Women’s Tennis Association sought to reimagine its 50th Anniversary Gala ahead of the US Open, moving beyond a traditional awards format to create a moment that honored its legacy while signaling the future of the sport.

The challenge was to deliver a premium, emotionally resonant experience that appealed to a diverse set of stakeholders, from athletes and executives to partners and media, while operating within defined budget parameters.

THE STRATEGY
GSE approached the gala as a storytelling platform, not a dinner event. The program was designed to blend legacy and future through curated content, live performance, and immersive design, creating a narrative arc that celebrated the WTA’s history while positioning it for continued growth. Every element, from venue selection to programming, was built to support that story.

THE EXECUTION
GSE delivered full lifecycle event production, acting as an extension of the WTA team across planning, content development, and execution. The event featured a scripted program highlighting key moments in WTA history, supported by high-end audio-visual production.

Live performances, including a customized Broadway moment, were integrated to elevate the experience, while bespoke design elements such as a custom floral installation and trophy wall created an immersive environment. GSE also managed guest logistics, including travel, accommodations, and seating, ensuring a seamless experience for over 400 attendees.

THE IMPACT
The gala successfully repositioned the traditional tennis event into a modern, emotionally engaging experience that resonated across stakeholders. By combining storytelling, talent, and design, GSE delivered a flagship moment for the WTA that reinforced its legacy while signaling its future, all within budget and operational constraints.
